Mesothelioma death rate among Amagasaki residents 14 times the national average

Asbestos cancer toll will not peak until 2015

meso.jpgAlmost 200,000 people in the UK could still get asbestos-related cancers, say scientists funded by Cancer Research UK.

Exposure to asbestos causes a form of cancer called mesothelioma – which affects the lining of the lungs – as well as lung cancer. The symptoms can take many decades to emerge.
