Asbestos exposure and lung cancer

In the United Kingdom, asbestos accounts for 2-3% of deaths from lung cancer in men. This is an effect of complementarity between smoking and asbestos in causing lung cancer. Asbestos can cause cancer of the pleura (such as mesothelioma, lung cancer is the other).
