Giving pemetrexed maintenance therapy to patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have not had disease progression after initial platinum-based chemotherapy improves both overall and progression-free survival… More than 1 million people worldwide die every year from lung cancer, and more than 87% of these cases are non-small-cell lung cancer. About 40% of patients have advanced disease at presentation.
