Partnership to Support and Help Drive Awareness of Lung Cancer Early Detection
SAN CARLOS, Calif. — Domenico Wines, one of the fastest growing, family-owned artisan wineries in the U.S., announced that it has been selected as a partner by The Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (BJALCF), the nation’s largest philanthropy devoted exclusively to eradicating lung cancer.

A Maine man who dedicated much of his life to raising money for local charities, including the Maine Children’s Cancer Program, died Saturday.
John “Stoney” Dionne founded Stoney’s Lobster Run 29 years ago. The annual motorcycle ride raised money for various local charities.
After helping raise money to fight cancer, Dionne was diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year.
John “Stoney” Dionne was 56 years old.

Jerry Remy is working in the Boston Red Sox broadcast booth for the first time in more than three months.
The color analyst on the team’s telecasts returned Friday night for Boston’s game against the Yankees. He took a leave of absence in early May after developing an infection and pneumonia following surgery for lung cancer late last year.

For the first time since April, when the exhaustion of recovering from an infection owing to complications following his lung cancer surgery forced him from his duties, Remy served as the analyst for a Red Sox game, the role in which he has become one of the most universally beloved men in New England.

Serbia is the first country in Europe to test the vaccine against lung cancer. Presently the effects of the vaccine are being tested on four patients at ‘Bezanijska Kosa’ hospital. It is being given to patients after the treatment. They have already undergone the first chemotherapy that led to stabilization of the disease or its complete withdrawal.
