Clinical Study To Compare Two Lung Cancer Drugs

The federal government launched a large clinical study Wednesday in an attempt to determine how to best treat certain lung-cancer patients.The study, overseen by the National Cancer Institute, will look at Genentech Inc.’s (DNA) Tarceva and Eli Lilly & Co.’s (LLY) Alimta as part of an effort to see if targeting a tumor growth factor known as epidermal growth factor receptor, or EGFR, makes a difference in the treatment of patients with non- small cell lung cancer.
