Even as the National Cancer Institute attempts to discredit vitamin E by deceptively using synthetic vitamin E in its studies, the real truth about natural vitamin E continues to come out: It slashes lung cancer risk by a whopping 55 percent. It also slashes the risk of other cancers, but only if you use the natural form of vitamin E, not the synthetic form. The National Cancer Institute knows this, of course, but they continue to use synthetic vitamin E anyway, since the whole purpose of their own studies is to discredit vitamin E rather than conduct actual science.

As NCI lung cancer researcher Phillip A. Dennis pointed out in the journal Science in 2004, breast cancer received nine times the funding per death as lung cancer. “Important health issues such as diarrhea, influenza, and lung cancer may not be sexy, but they deserve the public’s attention and commitment from policymakers and the scientific community,” he wrote.

Researchers have identified 26 genes associated with the most common type of lung cancer,  – more than doubling the number of genes known to play a role in the deadly disease.

A study seeking possible cancer genes elucidated the mutations and the genetic pathways activated in the most common form of lung cancer – lung adenocarcinoma – and could lead to improved diagnosis and treatment, said the director of the Baylor College of Medicine Human Genome Sequencing Center that played a major role in the project led by the National Human Genome Research Institute.

There have been few reports regarding long time survival after lung cancer surgery. The influence of age and pulmonary function on long time survival is still not fully discovered.

Some reports suggest that hospitals with a high surgical volume have better results. The aim of this study was to evaluate lung cancer surgery performed in a county hospital in terms of 30 days mortality, complications and predictors of long time survival.
