Genetic Mutation Increases Lung Cancer Risk, Scientists Find

alpha1-antitrypsin deficiency.jpgPeople with a common genetic disorder may be at increased risk of developing lung cancer from exposure to tobacco smoke, a study found.Carriers of the genetic mutation, called alpha1-antitrypsin deficiency, had a 70 to 100 percent increased risk, according to the study released today by the Archives of Internal Medicine.
