Cancer man slams NHS
August 10th, 2007
A WORKINGTON pensioner who was refused funding for a cancer drug is still waiting to hear if the decision will be overturned.
Harry White, 73, and his wife Jean, of Westfield Drive, have to find £1,600 every month to pay for the treatment.
They submitted a formal appeal letter to Cumbria Primary Care Trust four weeks ago, arguing that the drug Tarceva is prolonging and improving his life.
