Lung cancer CT screenings see cancer early
Computed tomography screening done annually identifies a high proportion of patients with early-stage lung cancer, a New York study found.The latest findings of the New York Early Lung Cancer Action Project published in the April issue of the journal Radiology found CT results prompted recommendations for further work-up on 14 percent of the 6,295 baseline screening participants. Also, 6 percent of the 6,014 repeat screening participants were referred for further investigation.
