Non-small cell lung cancer – Current drug regimens for NSCLC

Surgery remains confined to localized NSCLC patients and the majority of patients are diagnosed in advanced stages of the disease, where platinum analogue-based pharmacotherapy is the mainstay of treatment. The introduction of third-generation cytotoxics has raised the hope of significantly improving efficacy, but prognosis is still poor, and the survival rate has remained relatively stagnant.
